 is a sacred Buddhist site located on Vaibhava Hill in Rajgir, Bihar. It is most famous as the location of the First Buddhist Council, convened approximately six months after Lord Buddha’s death (Mahaparinirvana) in 483 BCE

The caves are linked to King Bimbisar.The caves are linked to King Bimbisara of the Magadha Empire, a contemporary and devotee of Gautama Buddha. Legend says the king’s wife hid his treasure here after he was imprisoned by his son, Ajatashatru.
